Community Work

Ever since high school, community work has been a part of my life, and regular routine. And it’s something that’s only become increasingly important, the older I get. Giving back to my community, however that’s defined, has helped shape who I am and permits me to make even a little bit of a positive impact on the world around me.

Since 2018 I’ve been with Mustang Lacrosse and partner Evolve Alberta as an Assistant Coach. Lacrosse is a family sport that I picked up in university. A couple years after starting to play, I started coaching. After a hiatus from both and moving a couple times, I’ve been fortunate to get re-involved with the sport as a coach. I’ve been learning the changes to the game since I played, and investing time to become a better, more effective coach. Here are some experiences and resources I’ve found helpful:

From April 2017 to October 2019 I served on my Community Association Board as Director at Large and Vice President. In addition helping shape the budget on the Finance Committee and overseeing the staff during my Vice President tenure, I was also fortunate to be able to complete the following projects:
• Coordinated a fresh, engaging AGM
• Coordinated the completion of a Little Library
• Created and managed a community newsletter
